Qua-ti-si

Quatisi is of the Cree Nation.
Her tremendous natural talent is a gift of the Creator honed to perfection by her loving and musically talented father. In quatisi,s personal life she is a very private and tender hearted, feeling woman. In both her recorded and live performances, Quatisi, with her striking appearance has a boldness in her singing combined with a deft touch and warm phrasing. Her delivery of a song is clear as a beacon with a touch of mystique and a sense of confidence borne of the connection with her music and her culture.

Quatisi started performing on her own and opened for many well-known artists, she has performed in most states east of the Mississippi River excluding the New England area.

She moved to Nashville in the early 90's where she worked as a demo artist for several years, however there seemed to be something missing, she loved "country music" but it just didn't have the connection to her, that Native American music had. There was a deeper feeling for Quatisi to let other people know "my native ways" she stated.

Since beginning her career, Quatisi has experience an out-cry of love and satisfaction for her Native American music. Her fans are from all parts of the country, and in Europe.

"Quatisi is a very modest woman, but she is one great performer." (Shadagea Music)

Her first CD was a compilation of many different genres of traditional music and talent and was nominated as one of the Best Independent Recordings for 2001 Native American Music Awards.

"People of the Red Man" was recorded, mixed and engineered at Cumberland Studios in Nashville, she will always be thankful to Billy Anderson, the owner, engineer and musician for his help and input.

A powerful offering of songs, with the characteristic blend of the Native American flute, rattle, drum, the whistle and the unique sound of the steel guitar, violin and keyboard. Quatisi's music not only means something, but moves you as well. Her music will transport the listeners to the people and lands of her native heritage.

qua ti si was nominated for the Fifth Native American Music Awards for her dynamite CD( Bury Me) in the Best Pop/Rock recording which put her up against the likes of Micki Free Grammy winner, Nammy winner.

She definitely received a lot of attention and recognition for this outstanding piece of work!

2003 qua ti si was nominated again with the song White Cross as one of the best in the Gospel Category with the Nammys.

2004 qua ti si's CD Bury Me was also nominated in the Best Pop category with the ISMA awards.

2004 her newest CD release Through Indian Eyes has been selected to be placed in 6 categories for the 7th Annual NAMA awards. With the song Dark Horse selected as the best Song/Single of the year.

Through Indian Eyes is one of her best works yet!
